Quote of the Week: Bob Fitch

Bob Fitch is a powerful and master of Magic and Art, that we can study and integrate in our own growth. You can check all his fascinating experience in Broadway and as Magic Coach. This quote comes from this fantastic interview.

What is failure to you?

For me, failure is a fantastic experience of learning and humility. I have SO many failures in life that is funny but thanks to my parents I never understood that being wrong is a bad thing. In Mentalism I also had a lot of failures and that is why I have so many successes. They are just apparent opposites, as all opposites.

As soon as you love your failures and take them as new opportunities of self-compassion and reflection, you will find a deeper potential within. The art is to camouflage them so they are not part of your core identity, not even the successes as well. You are not either your failure or success, they are events that happen to you as opportunities of expansion and completeness.

In performance, failure is needed but always from a calm attitude and serene response. Especially in Mentalism, a small adjustment offers the experience a genuine realism. Dont fake the failures but take chances. In that you have a fantastic opportunity to create legends.

Dont seek the failures through being mediocre of course. Always do your best but avoid perfection. In that way you will not get frustrated if you need some adjustments. Dont "expect" success either, just let Life surprise you with whatever needs to happen through excellence. If you do your best, whatever happens is the best.
