Lets celebrate the legacy of a giant who now is resting in peace and power, John Riggs.
In my beginnings I found his work and immediately contacted him to get his amazing work. He was always nice and open to guide a sincere student. Thanks, John.
Every Mentalist has their own meanings and purposes in joining the exploration of mind mysteries. Some people like to do just magic tricks with a mental flavor. Others go the mysterious route of performing as if the acts are real. Some people are believers and others are anti-belief, which is paradoxically another belief.
Whatever is your stance, dont degrade the "other." Many "skeptics" claim that everything is BS, and that is just a generalization, in the same way that we can ridiculously claim that all "mental magicians" are contributing nothing to the art.
There are charlatans everywhere. Be sure to be sincere, whatever your claim is. If you want to create the illusion of PSI, go for it. If you want to create tangible realities, go for it.
Personally, more than a Mentalist I consider myself a Mystery Performer, one that explores and offers an aesthetic and mysterious experience of the wonders of the human mind. I'm not saying that all claims of "psychic powers" are real. I just found a way to create these moments.
Reflect about your stance, your respect for others, and lets create a powerful ecosystem in which we can flourish.
Thanks, John, for your amazing work.
