Quote of the Week: Thich Nhat Hanh

The body and the mind are one, and in this quote from the Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hanh we can appreciate a simple conscious exercise that you can apply both in your performances and daily life.

Right now, smile and allow that simple action to infuse your mind with appreciation of this precise moment.

Pure magic. Simple, powerful and direct manner to focus into everything that we can be through pure joy. It is not a smile of ethereal happiness, but gratefulness.

Next time you have the opportunity to perform, before bringing your props, connect to the smile of gratitude and start your interaction with your audience from that sincere mindset. The body and the mind are not just connected, but different manifestations of consciousness. We can say that the body is the physical mind and the mind is the metaphysical body.

That is why we can change our body consciously, and from that we can change our mind, in the same way that our change of mind changes our body naturally.

Before performance, bring conscious balance to your body and connect to your genuine secureness and presence (that is why rehearsal is so important). In this way, your mind will be ready to focus into your potential of excellence.

Smile, and the world will smile you back.

You can check my published work and see how this simple action can influence several pieces of Mentalism (Smile Deck, Genuine Happiness from Ideas about Pendulums, and others)

This week be connected to the power of your smile and connect to your natural joy!
